Evening everyone! I had a fun filled night of babysitting, where the girls surprised me with a beautiful bracelet and homemade cards:
It was so sweet of them to give me such a beautiful present and I was so surprised. I loved the cards that the girls made me for me, because I think handmade, homemade cards from kids are one of the best, most beautiful things in the world. I remember making cards like that and giving them to older cousins or “big kids” and I always felt so special when I’d get a hug and a big thank you in return. These are definitely going on the fridge
Not the bracelet obviously…
I also thought I’d share with you all a little bit more about my personal life as my big life changes involve someone else….
Meet the boyfriend!
The both of us wearing these crazy light-up sunglasses my dad got in Hong Kong in 2010
Vail, CO 2010
The boyfriend and I met in Athens, Greece back in 2009 when we were both participating in the same study abroad program. Our first date we went to get pitas at the best gyro place in Athens that was near his apartment and then hiked up Lykavitos hill. His presence in my life was one of the things that made Greece really special. We’ve spent some time apart but a few weeks ago decided to get back together and I couldn’t be happier
He was the “friend” that came to visit a few weeks ago and he’s a great guy that you’ll be hearing more about on the blog from now on.
In other news, Angie ate cashews, an ear plug, and a pen grip. Wanna know how I know? The proof is in the…stuff that ends up in doggie pick up bags. Thankfully it’s all passing naturally and I was advised yesterday that if she started vomiting to take her to the vet, but she has been fine and acting normal. It does make me realize that I need to be extra careful about leaving things around (they were all on tables or counters!) and to get an extra lock for her kennel to make sure she can’t get out while I’m gone.
Tomorrow I’m excited to go shopping with a friend as I am in serious need of nothing really, actually I do need some summer clothes but I’d rather not admit that it’s almost shorts/skirts/bikini season. I’m off to bed! Goodnight!

haha doggie pick up. What a funny way to find this out! Dude, i love that company for bracelets, I actually bought them for my two friends who I did treatment did as xmas presents because of what they said. I have one as well and wear it a lot!
Yeah it was a little shocking at first but I’m really grateful that she is physically ok but I want to take her to the vet to get some more vaccinations and a check up. I’ve seen the brand of the bracelet before but I haven’t gotten anything. I thought it was really beautiful and such a nice gift.
Love this post and absolutely love your homemade cards! You are justifiably admired and adored, obviously
Here’s wishing you some wonderful retail therapy tomorrow!
Thank you Anne! I love the homemade cards too…the girls put so much love into them and that just melts my heart.
Aww I really enjoyed reading this, it really was lovely
The homemade cards are just perfect Alex!
Thank you so much Tessa! I love the cards, they made my day
I love the cards and gifts. I want to say “congratulations” on the boyfriend, but not in a “congratulations, you found a man!” way, but congratulations, you have someone in your life who makes you happy and who you are ready to talk about. [I was 38 when mr. sc and I started going out and I would say it's my first "real" relationship...it took me a while to get to that place!!!]
Poor Angie! She needs a little impulse control when it comes to wanting to see what things taste like! Glad she’s doing ok
Haha your comment made me laugh out loud, Zo. Thank you for all the congratulations!
I’m glad you have Mr. SC
My friend and I joke that Angie needs DBT skills like distress tolerance (thankfully she has a mom who is practicing it) but thank you, I’m glad she’s ok too. She just had a puppy moment…or hour.
