Stop Waiting

by Alex @ Raw Recovery on November 18, 2012

Stop waiting for yesterday to get better

It’s making today worse

Stop waiting for your ex to come back…he’s (or she’s) not

Stop waiting for the perfect time to light that candle

Stop waiting for someone to complete you

Stop waiting for the right time to make a change; change happens NOW

Stop waiting for the world to sober up

Stop waiting to take risks

Stop waiting to eat the chocolate

Stop waiting to put yourself out there

Stop waiting for life to be perfect

Stop waiting to live

Stop waiting for your parents to give you what they can’t or be who they aren’t

Stop waiting to love yourself

Stop waiting for people to change

Stop waiting for things to fall into place

Stop waiting for the other shoe to drop

Stop waiting.

Stop waiting.

Stop waiting!

Start living

…freely

…bravely

…honestly

…courageously

…loudly

…softly

Live with your whole heart.

Live like you mean it.

Live as if you only get one chance.

Make mistakes.

Try new things.

Be a little crazy.

Wear costumes on days that aren’t Halloween.

Make a fort out of blankets.

Write with gel pens.

Read Dr. Seuss

And Aristotle

Stand in front of the Great Pyramid

Walk up to the Acropolis

Pretend you are the Oracle at Delphi

Climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge

Have really good sex

Only buy clothes that you feel fantastic in

Swim like you’re a mermaid

Laugh a lot

Do something nice for a child

Do something nice for an unsuspecting adult

Do something nice for YOURSELF

Stick around long enough to fulfill all your own wishes

This world can be cruel

But past the pain is enough beauty to amaze all of us

Don’t give up

Not now

Not ever

Stop waiting.

Start living.

This was magnificent. Such a beautiful message to wake up to on a Monday morning. I am guilty of having been waiting … for what? For this post, apparently, and the encouragement to move on regardless.
The rest of the world can wait, I’ll be off living!! <3

I feel like I could have written this as well. I tend to want to wait, just let things happen but in many cases it is necessary to take action. Easier said than done for sure. Your email made me smile from ear to ear by the way, best start to my work day yesterday

Thank you so much Gloria! I too forget to enjoy the little things and the beauty that I take for granted.
