About Alex
Welcome to Raw Recovery!
My name is Alex and thanks for visiting my blog! I’m a college senior recent college graduate with a Bachelor’s in Philosophy. I am also recovering from an eating disorder, depression, an anxiety disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder. My intention for this blog is to show others that it is possible to heal from these disorders and to live a happy and fulfilling life. It is time for the stigma to be gone and for those struggling with any mental health problem to not suffer in silence! In this blog I will be talking about my healing journey and starting a positive, happy, healthy life. We’ve all had struggles in our life and I want Raw Recovery to be a place where the hardships can be discussed and hope can be given by myself and the amazing people who follow my journey. I hope you will find Raw Recovery to be inspiring and informative!

Wow I am an avid reader of healthy living blogs and found yours via Healthy Tipping Point. I have an extremely similar experience to you, I have an eating disorder, struggle with depression and anxiety and am currently in treatment (taking the year off from college) for Borderline Personality Disorder. I look forward to reading your blog and I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you so much Tessa! I’m excited to read more of your blog as well!
I just stumbled onto your blog by accident while looking up yoga mats on the web and was struck by the similarities to my experiences. Its great for me to hear how you have progressed through your illnesses. It’s so important to be reminded that recovery isn’t out of reach when the thing that sabotages your plans to help yourself is inside you.
Namaste, Peace, Love
Hi Jess! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for your nice comment! I hope you’ll stop by again! I love how you phrased the bit about recovery and I think it’s definitely important to remember that the power to heal is also within. Thank you again!
Hi Alex,
I saw you on Goddess Guidebook (amazing isn’t it?!). I tried to facebook you but couldn’t get the link to work. Well done on writing such an inspirational blog. I am sure many people will gather hope and inspiration on your site. I work as a teacher in Scotland and really believe the younger generations (if not all) need help and information regarding mental health. I too am in my 20;s (as per your goddess link). Get in touch, would be great to chat:-)
Louise
Hi Louise! Thank you so much for stopping by! I LOVE Goddess Guidebook but truth be told am sad that Leonie isn’t so much into the Goddess title anymore. People change and that’s ok, I guess. I’m still working on getting the facebook link set up so I will post an announcement when it is!
Thank you for your very kind comments about my blog. I really appreciate them! I would love to chat with you so feel free to email me anytime and I will find you on the Goddess Circle! I absolutely LOVE Scotland! Where do you teach? I spent a few days in Edinburgh and it stole my heart. The people were lovely, the city was stunning, and I just had a wonderful time. I’m hoping to go back there soon and get a taste of the country side.
Here’s to a blossoming blog friendship!
Alex

Thank you so much Kelly! I hope you will come back soon!
I would never have thought anybody could feel the exact same way with this disorder, but you took the words right out of my mind. It’s never easy, if not impossible, to explain to someone what you’re going through if they haven’t went through it themselves. I truly understand and appreciate all your words, I hope I can have even just a little of the strength you have had to get through this.
Hi Darion! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for taking the time to comment. I am sorry that you too are dealing with this disorder and I wish you all the best in your recovery! I’ve found that it’s so nice to know/hear about others who struggle but are trying to move forward. I hope that you will visit again and that my words might be of some comfort to you. Keep fighting! You’re worth it!
